USCIS Fee Increases Effective October 2, 2020

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) published the final rule for its revised fee schedule on Aug. 3, 2020. The final rule is scheduled to take effect on Oct. 2, 2020. The final rule includes significant increases in many current application fees as well as the creation of a fee for asylum applications.

Some significant increases include:

Naturalization (Form N-400)–USCIS will increase the application fee from $640 to $1,170.

Adjustment of Status to Lawful Permanent Resident (Form I-485)–USCIS will unbundle the cost of $1,225 for most applicants that currently includes employment authorization document (Form I-765) and a travel document (Form I-131) that are filed concurrently. As a result, the filing fees for a concurrent filing of these applications will increase to $2,270.

Employment Authorization Document (Form I-765)–USCIS will increase the application fee from $410 to $550.
